The Huqooq ul Ebad Development Foundation commemorated World Environment Day by hosting a significant event titled “Empowering Communities on Climate Action, Capacity Building Workshop and Awareness Session” in District Kalat, Balochistan. The workshop attracted 39 participants from various sectors including educators, social workers, local government officials, business people, and students, all committed to enhancing their understanding and actions towards climate change mitigation.
Opening Remarks
Mr. Musa Khan Mengal. The session was initiated by Mr. Musa Khan Mengal, a prominent social worker and president of the Gindar Social Welfare Society. He provided an insightful overview of the Foundation’s extensive initiatives across diverse domains such as human rights, governance, and climate action. Mr. Mengal emphasized the urgency of climate issues and the indispensable role of community-driven efforts in addressing these challenges.
Discussion on Climate Change and Community Participation
Mr. Musa Khan Mengal discussed the critical roles that local communities play in climate change adaptation and mitigation. He stressed the need for effective strategies to mobilize community members, particularly highlighting the contributions of women in environmental stewardship.

He told participants the importance of Bio-diversity, and pointed out how its existence is crucial for human being. He discussed ways to preserve it.

Mr. Kamran Ahmed addressed the crucial role of youth in tackling the challenges posed by post-flood scenarios. He highlighted how young people could lead in recovery efforts and build resilient communities through innovative and sustainable practices.

Mr. Ikram Ullah’s talk centered on raising climate awareness and understanding government policies. He detailed the existing policies and their impacts on climate actions, stressing the need for informed participation in governmental processes related to climate governance.
